Fat Grafting to the Hand

Hand Rejuvenation

Hide visible tendons and veins with fat injection

Fat grafting can be used anywhere on the body to replace loss of fat or two add to the existing tissue. In the hand this is often used to correct the aging effect of skeletonization of the back of the hand. This causes prominence of the veins and tendons that we often see with the aging process.

A cosmetic procedure is available to harvest fat from elsewhere in the body and then to process this and inject it into the back of the hand to give a more youthful appearance. This is very effective. Fat is harvested using a special liposuction technique and prepared with a centrifuged to remove the extra fluid and concentrate the fat. The fat is then injected using special blunt cannulae into the space under the skin on the back of the hand.
